Mangad Chronicles
Bundled in the centre of Kannur, a district in northern Kerala, my little home town ‘Mangad’ or better known as Mangattuparamba, while relatively small, is steeped in history and tradition, and every corner holds a story of the past. After spending my entire childhood in various states across India, it was finally when I turned 13, my family settled in the beautiful abode of Mangattuparamba. Since then Mangad has not just been any place on a map, it’s been my home! Image credits: Author Filled with the lush greenery of coconut palms, rubbers and plantations, Mangad is surrounded by paddy fields, ponds and ‘kaavu’ or temples, thus making it a nature lover’s paradise. With its tranquil atmosphere, a stroll through the lush landscapes, or by one of the many small rivers and streams that dot the area, it proves to be the perfect spot to unwind The sound of rustling leaves and flowing water is enough to melt away all your stress.
